I am a member of this Airborne Living History Group and I also have an additional interest in nose art, which stemmed from a life long love of drawing, coupled with my love of WW2 aircraft.
I am passionate about this era and strive to replicate, as closely as possible, the artwork which was used to decorate so many things during Wartime.
Aircraft nose art panels were the most popular.
Here are a few I have recreated:-
and displayed at RAF Leuchers Airshow, 2006.
Very often the Aircrews would request copies of the nose art panels be painted onto their flying jackets. These pictures display the process involved, until I have completed the finished article. My work is all done by hand, using appropriate materials and methods.
If you are interested in purchasing any of the artwork shown or need any advice in searching for a particular piece, please email me:- currahee@doodlebugmilitaria.co.uk.
You could of course create your own fictitious artwork using numerous girls, cartoons, lettering etc or search for a genuine article.
Prices can be calculated on a personal basis, depending on how much or how little artwork you might require.
Please remember that a lot of this artwork is taken from old black and white photographs so some detail and colour may be down to artistic license.
